This is why I moved on from intel and went back to AMD :) With my 2 year old Ryzen 7 7700x never had any problems. My intel cpu crashed and burned- sort of say -

I am missing the beard bro... I had a weird issue with an older Intel system recently. I bought an 8700k and 32gb of ram. It is running unRaid and Frigate (also have one of the Google TPU's). It was crashing frequently. The mobo/cpu/ram was a bundle from eBay, so decided to run memory tests. Worked ok for 3 days. I eventually found I had an SSD that crapped out on me (cache drive) - replaced it, fixed the instability issue. I know this is different than the microcode issue - just telling someone else my woes. Now, my system is working great - Frigate is awesome.

You’d have to test to be sure but I think your PSU radiant zone idea must be wrong. Put your hand over the intake fan of a PSU and on the back immediately after powering it off. I think you’ll find the bottom is hotter as it has all the components mounted to it and no airflow. Don’t test while it’s on or the moving air will cool your hand and bias the result. It will feel cooler even if it isn’t.

If it was me I would get rid of that intel cpu in the bin or under a hammer and get a amd cpu

Great video! Currently between this and the HL15; I'm probably leaning towards the HL15 as it'll be my first (and primary) rack mount but I could see myself getting this as a secondary rack mount case.

I've had this case for about 6 months now. It looks like they may have changed the rails a bit from when I purchased. My rails don't actually fit in my rack, but it's a pretty cheap rack, so that might be why. Still pretty annoying that I have a rack mount chassis finally and I can't actually service it in the rack. And it's an incredible bummer that they don't even have an option for a filter on the front. What a mess the lack of a filter screen creates. I can't say I noticed any noise from the hard drives vibrating. But that's what the server closet is for.

Quick question: Why do you think magnetic screws are in any way better? It's handy, sure, but it's no marker of screw quality. Some types of stainless steel are not significantly magnetic.

I wouldn't be accepting the CPU as good enough for light use. It would be going back to Intel to fix their sh**. For new hardware, just stick with AMD until these Intel CPUs are noped out of existence.

How do you disable the gateway’s WiFi so I can use my personal mesh router’s WiFi? In Device > Status, it lists my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz as enabled, but there are no buttons to disable it.

If you had 5GB/5GB, then you are on their new XGS Fiber Network... This means you can bypass the White AT&T Gateway altogether. You'll need a WAS-110 SFP+ ONT Module, and the programing takes only a few minutes. It continues to work after power outages, restarts, etc. It allows you to plug the Fiber Directly to your Unifi System. I am using it myself, and its impressive that the speeds are so much better without AT&Ts equipment. Highly Recommended!

I configured openvpn, the connection works very well, but I only see a few computers on my local network, in addition my network is 172.16.20.0/23 but it does not see the other subnet 172.16.21.0
